Finally - warm weather!

We had great weather this weekend. We took full advantage and spent lots of time outside. This is why we live in Houston!

On Friday after school, we went to Hermann Park for a picnic lunch and a quick trip to the Museum of Natural Science.

On Sunday, after church, we went to a new restaurant with horses, donkeys, chickens, and peacocks to look at while we waited for our food! This will be the replacement for our beloved Cars & Trucks restaurant.

After lunch, we went out to the park to fly a kite under brilliant blue skies. Wesley did a great job, though we did have to rescue the kite from a tree one time. He rode his bike there, hence the helmet.

Beautiful day

Today was the perfect day for an outdoor lunch after church. We tried a new place - Clay's - which has farm animals you can feed and pet. It was definitely a hit with the boys! It might be their new favorite now that "Cars and Trucks" is closed.

Wesley's New Handwriting Skills

It's a little hard to see, but here is Wesley's name! (I let him trace the "s" and the "y" because he's still working on those.)

Merry Christmas!

We stayed in Houston for Christmas this year but had no shortage of visitors - all welcome and very much appreciated!

We started with Christmas Eve service at church, then a gumbo dinner at home.

Wesley and his big boy bike!

Wesley rode his big boy bike for the first time today! We took advantage of the nice weather and practiced a few times in the grassy area by the bayou, then a little more at home on the street. Here are some videos - hope they work!

Getting Ready for Christmas

WARNING: Long post ahead!

We have been busy getting ready for the big day.

First we had to get a Christmas tree. On the morning after the big snow (in 30 degree weather) we headed off to find the perfect tree.
