Jack turned 5 months old on Wednesday. He's getting bigger every day.
He's getting better about pushing up with his arms (he can do better than this!)
Everything in the mouth!
Going bald at 5 months
Big smile!
Likes the swing!

Ike-ation
As Ike approached, we stocked the house with water, canned food, and canned formula. We also brought in all the potential projectiles from outside...
Looks like we are moving out!
Heavier objects off to the side
Work was closed Thursday afternoon and Friday to give us time to prepare. We went to bed Friday night at 9:30 after the cable went out. We awoke at 1:00am to the sound of howling winds and blowing rain. Daddy stayed up surfing the web for news reports until the power went out at 3:45. When we all woke up around 7:30, we could see we were lucky. The power was out, water pressure was low, but our house was in good shape.
Front view of the yard
Big limb inches from the front window
Tree down near Grandmama's house
We stuck it out all day Saturday cleaning up the yard and making sure our food stayed fresh. Our neighbors two streets over still had power so we went over for dinner and a 'clean out the fridge' party. Sleep that night was difficult with temperatures in the low 80s and high humidity. We decided on Sunday to head to New Braunfels to The Other Place for a mini vacation. Grandmama graciously agreed to watch Eddie in our absence.
We had a very comfortable two bedroom cabin with A/C and internet access so all was well. Wesley got to have his first 'toobing' experience, though with a life jacket.
Our place of refuge
Wesley playing with his 'baby bulldozer' on the Comal River
Splashing in the baby pool
Scooping up water
Heading off on his first float with Daddy
Floating with Mama
Floating along...
Heading to the toob exit
Time for a picnic by the river
Hot dogs!
Jack would rather eat his fingers!
Mmm...
We headed back to Houston on Wednesday to what we assumed would be a powerless house, but were surprised to see that we had power! Hooray for Centerpoint Energy!
We are survivors!!
